Dear Travel Diary.....

Hello All.

  • First and foremost, thank you for reading my very very first blog of my life.  If you are reading this, you are either a family member or my long-time friend (whom I "lovingly forced" or "gently pushed"  to login to this site) or a future friend (whom I am excited to personally meet someday in one of my travels).

  • Finally, after many years of travelling, I started this blog (which could also be a "Dear Travel Diary" kind of thing for me......).  I do not want to forget all the amazing things that I have seen, heard, tasted, smelled, and experienced on all my travels.

  • My only regret is that I have not started this blog a few years back when the travel bug bit me hard. I am just starting this blog when I am about to visit my Country #64 (Andorra). It will take a whole lot of memory cells to work triple-time for me to obtain information for Countries #1 through #63. I will try, but not hopeful.

  • One thing that makes me so anxious (borderline frustrated) is how to get from the airport to the hotel. I am aware that there will always be a taxi, but knowing me, I would like to stretch my dollars to the farthest cent as possible. Having Uber or Lyft or any ride-sharing program for that country is very beneficial because I can pretend to book the to and from route so that I can be aware of how much it will cost me to get from the airport to the hotel. Unfortunately, not all countries have Uber, so we have to travel through taxi, local bus/train, or shuttles. For those who are brave and direction-savvy, rental car is the way to go. One has to remember, getting lost is an added free adventure. You will never know what fantastic thing lies beyond your tour book, guide maps and research materials, unless you get lost and experience it first hand.

  • I know that when I arrive at the hotel, I have almost calmed down either because I have researched the city to the fullest, or there will be a concierge who will guide me to visit the most amazing places or to book the most interesting activities (which will definitely turn me from being just a normal travel researcher to being a great, mesmerizing and captivating storyteller!). Excitement will trigger one more time because I know that in a few minutes, I will be exploring new and unfamiliar places. New knowledge leads to lasting fulfillment.

  • I cannot wait to share with you my travel tips and info on all the countries that I have already visited (ultimately relying on my hard working memory cells.....) and will be visiting. By November 2019, my super good friend Valerie and I will be visiting my Countries #64 (Andorra/Andorra La Velle), #65 (Morocco/Marrakech) and #66 (Czech Republic/Prague).

I know I started late with this blog. But then, better late than never, right?
Thank you everyone. Talk to you soon.
-Travel more, Army B.
